How to become a CWM Subscriber
We would be pleased to welcome you as a Subscriber of SSAA Qld CWM.
The following outlines the steps to becoming a Subscriber:
- All CWM Subscribers must maintain current financial member status of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia. There are many benefits in being a member of the SSAA, including being covered by Public Liability Insurance and Personal Injury Insurance whilst undertaking hunting or shooting activities. If you are not a member of SSAA as yet please download the application form at https://membership.ssaa.org.au/.
- If you need to obtain your shooters license or a 'Permit to Acquire' a firearm, please see the link to the Qld Police Service website on the SSAA website - http://ssaa.org.au/members/become-a-shooter/
- Complete a SSAA Qld CWM Subscriber form and return to the address on the form as per payment details on the form.
- Complete and pass the theory accreditation course. These are run throughout the state at different centres. Contact your local SSAA Qld CWM coordinator as per contacts or calendar tab. (We also have a number of people that join as non shooting members in order to go to some of the beautiful properties where we have projects).
- In order to shoot on any project, CWM subscribers need to also pass the practical marksmanship accreditation. You can complete this at any time in the process - you don't need to wait until your theory accreditation course to complete your practical marksmanship accreditation.
We recommend that you make every effort to attend training days in your region (or any region that you are able to) so that the regional coordinator and team leader/s can get to know you, and you get to know your fellow CWM Subscribers. At times CWM also runs working bees on some of the project properties to improve access or accommodation.
